As soon as you see the double lines on the stick, you’re destined for a CEO position that requires no qualifications, experience, interviews or applications; in fact, getting knocked up is the only prerequisite. So how do you navigate through your new job when your charge won’t stop crying and there’s no clocking off time? In her very first ebook, writer and mother-of-two Shona Riddell shares her 10 silliest pre-children assumptions about parenthood, reveals how it was all blown sky-high from day one, and shares her best pregnancy and parenting tips with other mums going through the same challenging stages. Topics include how to qualify as a MILF, figuring out how to breastfeed (or not), what on earth cabbage leaves are for, pregnancy survival tips, getting your baby to sleep, handling life and relationship changes, coping with depression, and managing insubordinate children.

This is a really great read for anyone who is a parent, or might be one day. It struck a chord with me in so many ways, and echoed a lot of my experiences as a first time mum, both good and not so good. It’s really well written and honest about the realities of first-time parenthood, and how hard it can be, with the sometimes ugly truth balanced out with lots of humour and practical advice. Best of all, and often forgotten, it’s a reminder that we’re all different, babies included, and comparing yourself or your baby to others is never a good idea (even though we all do it!). .Product details

Accidental CEO of Baby Town 10 Ways I Was Totally Unprepared For Motherhood Shona Riddell 9781501063015 Books Reviews
An honest and engaging account of those bewildering first months as a new Mum. Humorous and full of heart, it was a supportive read while feeding in the middle of the night.
It's a very insightful book and a great read for all mothers. I would recommend this especially for the new mums. I found myself feeling exactly the same at same stage of motherhood. It's an honest account of what some mothers really experience.
Fantastic read. Humorous, insightful, down to earth, real life account of a new Mums' foray into raising a baby. I loved it, in fact, I read it beginning to end non stop, and agreed with every point!!! Looking forward to the next book!
Honest and insightful, humourous and well written. Every new Mum or expecting Mum should read this honest account of what becoming a Mum may entail. Realistic and useful tips to help you through. Was over too fast, I was really enjoying it!
The best, most honest book I've read on motherhood. And I've read a number of them. It made me laugh and cry, and nod a lot.
My favourite line "The skin on my tummy now looks like an old, chain-smoking elephant that lay in the sun too long." I hear you sister.
I had a very similar experience with my first baby. It's wonderful to read someone else with similar experiences. There are things I had forgotten, it's nice to be reminded how far we have come. I have forwarded this book onto pregnant friends if they want to know what my experience was like and tips I have. Thanks Shona for reading my mind and writing it all down for me.
My (only) baby is just 5 months old, but pregnancy and baby related sections of this short book could have been written about me! It's a warm, funny, yet astute account of early motherhood. I just wish that it was a longer read!
