The Spirit of Nimue The Return to Camelot Trilogy Book 3 edition by Donna Hosie Children eBooks

The action in this finale of the Return to Camelot trilogy is so fast-paced I sometimes had to stop to breathe. Several of the characters we've been getting to know are wonderfully realized... and I want to know more of what becomes of them! I laughed... particularly at the writer's unconventional yet perfect imagery, and I cried more than once... sometimes at loss and sometimes in joy.

If you've not yet discovered the first two books of the trilogy, Searching for Arthur and The Fire of Merlin then begin with them. It's a great adventure with characters who are wise in ways the young can be. I defy you not to fall in love with Bedivere, delight in Lucan, and feel anguish for Byron and Gareth. No spoiling, just 'sTruth.

So, follow Mr. Rochester and you may come to Camelot too.

The Spirit of Nimue The Return to Camelot Trilogy Book 3 edition by Donna Hosie Children eBooks Reviews

Personally, I think people who write one word reviews are just too superfluous or lazy to properly think about the book they just read. However, every now and then I find myself doing the same because some books simply leave me speechless. Speechless in a good way, that is. It doesn't happen very often but when it does, it clearly is a sign that I really really liked something.

But before I get to my very own one word review, I have to say that I truly had a hard time putting "The Spirit of Nimue" down once started. I've sneakily read it at work, on my smartphone while waiting for my Mum to finish her grocery shopping, while waiting on street lights to finally turn green ... I read it wherever and whenever I could. And isn't this how all extraordinary books are supposed to be? Gripping, enthralling, funny, dazzling, absurd, sad, fiery, romantic .... "The Spirit of Nimue" is all of this and so much more.

So yeah, the one word review that springs to my mind when thinking of "The Spirit of Nimue" is "Perfect".
Yep, that's it. It's perfect. It's the perfect ending to a trilogy that started out pretty good and kept getting better and better.

Well done, Donna Hosie. It's the best you've written so far and I can't wait to see more of your writing.
Fast paced... Engaging.... Funny....I definitely want more. I can't wait for the Ring of Morgana. I hope some of the old characters will still be there. This series is definitely addicting.
Great book, probably my favorite in the series. What's great conclusion to an amazing trilogy. A little sad that it is over.
Donna Hosie has created a lovely series with the Return to Camelot trilogy immediately engaging, hard to put down, good flow, and not 400 pages long! What could be better?
I strongly recommend this book and the other two in this series. I can't wait for her to write another!
The only disappointment was the end. It needed the reunion and Tish's marriage to Bedivere and what the Knights of the Round Table are supposed to with both a chosen King and Queen. The story needs a better ending than what it got.
Third and final book in "The Return to Camelot" series. I liked this series with it's modern day and medieval times. Nothing earth shattering, definitely geared for young adults. Teen humor, hormones, and angst. A good read, there is some swearing and sexual content (nothing explicit and very little of both.) I give it 4 stars. I liked it. Will finish up the series.
I loved Searching for Arthur and The Fire of Merlin (Books 1 and 2 of the Return to Camelot trilogy), but the Spirit of Nimue was my favorite! Everything really came together for me, and I read most of the book in one sitting yesterday.

For me, books always succeed or fail on the strength of the characters, and I thought that was where The Spirit of Nimue particularly shone. It was a fun and action-packed adventure like the previous two books, and the plotting and pacing was really smooth and enjoyable, but it was Natasha's personal journey that kept me glued to my seat. I loved the revelations that explained so much about her, and I loved her growing determination and self-confidence. Such a change from the first book, and what a great character arc and a journey of self-discovery for her! She morphed from the unhappy and reluctant heroine of Searching for Arthur into a brave, strong woman who is not afraid of making strong choices and going after what she wants. WTG Natasha!

And WTG Donna Hosie, this trilogy is a fun read that spins Camelot myths and contemporary and historical settings and characters into a unique mix. As a big reader of historical fiction and non-fiction, some of the historical detail seemed off base to me (particularly descriptions of dresses - spaghetti straps???), but given the fantastical, time-bending world (and Natasha's disdain for dresses), the anachronistic descriptions didn't detract from the generally vivid and rich descriptions of the land of Logres. This is not a historical novel, after all, but a fantasy.

I am looking forward to delving into the next fantastical world Ms. Hosie creates!
